What is "Whats My Train"?

"Whats My Train" is a simple tool that anyone who uses NJ Transit Rail can use.

"Whats My Train" is an SMS utility that allows anyone, anywhere to receive train schedules. By simply sending an SMS message to "hey@whatsmytrain.com", you can figure out your next train!

How do I use "Whats My Train"?

Send a text or email to "hey@whatsmytrain.com", in the following format:
[origin station] to [destination station]
Ex: Madison to New York Penn Station
You will get a text reply with the next three trains departing from the origin to your destination.

New: Rail Alerts

To retrieve real-time rail alerts from NJTransit, Send a text or email to "hey@whatsmytrain.com", in the following format:
Alerts [origin station] to [destination station] - To retrieve any alerts that affect your trip.
Alerts [station-name] - To retrieve any alerts for a particular station / rail line.
Example: Alerts Madison to New York Penn Station OR: Alerts Oradell
You will get a text reply containing any active alerts from NJTransit relative to your trip.

New: Fares

To retrieve fares for your trip on NJTransit, Send a text or email to "hey@whatsmytrain.com", in the following format:
Fares [origin station] to [destination station]
Example: Fares Madison to New York Penn Station
You will get a text reply containing One Way and Round-Trip fares for your trip.

Why use "Whats My Train"?

Have you ever caught yourself wishing you had your train's schedule? Maybe you were stuck at work late or just missed your train and you need to know the next one. Impulsive stop at the bar on the way home and you need to know the later trains? Or maybe its just easier to send a text instead of log into a website. Whatever the situation is, the solution is easy! Just use Hey, "Whats My Train"?
